What's inside

These features are built into the app today. Watch a short video of each one. Features marked Pro are part of the Pro license.

  • Draw and extrude

Lines, rectangles, circles, arcs and polygons; pull any face into a solid with Extrude. Snap to points, edges and axes and type exact sizes while you draw.

  • Arcs, curves and splines

Arcs, Bezier curves, splines through points and B-splines, all editable afterwards.

  • Path Sweep and Offset

Sweep a profile along a path for moldings, handles and edges, and offset outlines inward or outward.

  • Components with parameters

Groups and components with shared copies, driven by formulas: smart scaling, repeat, choice lists and click actions.

  • Solids and booleans

Union, subtract, intersect, trim and split, plus a check that makes a shape watertight.

  • Section planes

Cut through the model anywhere, show cuts and section fills, and export a section drawing.

  • Sun and shadows

Real shadows for a chosen date and time of day. Pro adds a sun analysis per face as a color map and CSV, fully offline.

  • Saved views

Save camera views, flip through them in the view strip, play them as an animation or render them all at once.

  • Materials and decor library

Paint faces with materials and import board decors with brand, code, real size and grain direction.

  • Cut list

A parts list with sizes and quantities from groups and components, exported as CSV. Pro adds sheet and edge banding materials, labels and XLSX.

  • Cutting plans Pro

Sheet layouts for the panel saw with kerf, trim and grain direction. Print them or save them as PDF.

  • Parametric cabinets Pro

Kitchen and furniture cabinets with construction rules, drawer systems, fronts, plinth and worktop. Parts go straight into the cut list.

  • DWG and DXF import Pro

Skelvo's own DWG reader (DWG 2000 and 2004 to 2018) and DXF import, with units, layers and blocks as components.

  • STL, 3MF and send to slicer

Export STL or 3MF, or send the model straight to the slicer you chose. Check Solid first finds gaps, flipped faces and tiny edges, and fixes what it can.

  • Print and PDF

Print views, cutting plans and quotations, or save them directly as PDF, and export images.

  • Photorealistic rendering

Path-traced renders with sun, sky and studio light in a separate render window; save as PNG or JPG.

  • Developer console and scripting Pro

Model with JavaScript: a code editor with examples, variables that persist between runs and one undo step per run.

  • 9 interface languages

English (US, UK and Canada), Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Vietnamese, Arabic and Hindi.

Frequently asked questions

When will Skelvo be available?

Skelvo is being prepared for launch. There is no fixed date yet; waitlist members hear it first and get 30% off during the first 30 days after launch.

Is Skelvo a subscription?

No. You pay once. The price includes 12 months of updates, and you can keep using your version forever. If you want newer versions after that, you can buy an extra update year.

Can I try it first?

Yes. There will be a 14-day free trial with all Pro features, without payment details.

Does Skelvo run on Mac, Linux or a tablet?

Today Skelvo is a Windows app for Windows 10 and 11. We are working on a Linux version, a Mac version follows after that, and later we also want to bring Skelvo to tablets. Tell us which computer you use in the short questionnaire: it helps us decide the order.

Do I need to be online?

Only now and then. A license is activated online, and Skelvo then works offline for up to 14 days. After that it opens in read-only mode until it can connect again.

On how many computers can I use it?

One license is for one person, on up to 2 of that person's computers, for example a desktop in the workshop and a laptop.

How much will Skelvo cost?

Prices will be announced at launch. Skelvo will cost less than one year of subscription to most well-known professional 3D programs, and you pay only once. Waitlist members get 30% off during the first 30 days after launch. In the short questionnaire that completes your sign-up, you can tell us what you would find fair.

Will there be different licenses?

Yes, three. Hobby for personal, non-commercial projects, with a simple cut list. Pro for paid work and businesses, with production tools such as sheet cutting plans, cabinets and DWG. Education: the Pro license at 80% off for students and teachers. Every license includes 12 months of updates and can be used on up to 2 computers.

How do students and teachers get the discount?

Students and teachers get the Pro license at 80% off, for learning and teaching only, not for paid work. With an email address of your school or university the check is automatic. Without one, you send proof of enrollment or employment, such as a student card; we delete it as soon as it has been checked.

What happens with my email address?

We only use it to email you about Skelvo, in your language and for your user group. You complete your sign-up by answering a few short questions via the link in our email. Every email has a link to view or change your answers and a link to unsubscribe and delete your data.
