About Skelvo

Why Skelvo exists

You just want to make something: a cabinet, a garden shed, a part for your 3D printer, a design for a client. But good 3D software costs a small fortune, and more and more often every year again, with a subscription that never ends. For what you do with it, that is simply not worth it. You buy Skelvo once and you keep it. You design, draw to scale, render and 3D print, and your files stay on your own computer.

How we work

We only promise what Skelvo really does, and we say honestly what it does not do. Everything we write about Skelvo is checked in the real software. Skelvo is made in Belgium and follows the European privacy rules.

Where the name comes from

Skelvo is a new word, but it echoes three old ones that fit what you do with it. In Scots, a skelf (also written skelve) is a splinter or thin slice of wood, stone or metal: the material every project starts from. In Greek, skelos (σκέλος) means leg or limb, and also one part or branch of something larger, like the parts and components a model is built from. And the old Indo-European root skel- means to cut: the step that turns material into parts.

Material, parts and the cut in between: that is what Skelvo is about. Online you will also find us as Skelvo 3D, for example on YouTube as @Skelvo3d.

Who makes Skelvo
